Faculty-Led Learning Abroad Programs

General Information

  • Every WLC Faculty-Led program runs every year during the Summer semester. The dates of each program change slightly every year and are usually set toward the beginning of each Winter semester.
  • U of U students may earn 6-9 credits toward their degrees (equivalent to one year of language study, i.e. one class in Fall and one class in Spring). Students register through the U (as normal) for two classes, depending on the student's language level. For example, a student would register for JAPAN 2010 and 2020 (for a total of 8 credits) or SPAN 3020 and 3040 (a total of 6 credits).
  • All WLC Faculty-Led programs are planned and led by language instructors in the WLC Department and attract mostly U of U students. The number of students on the program varies by program, but the range is usually 10 to 25.
